Edward "Eddie" Powell

Camp Point, IL -- Edward R. "Eddie Powell", 59, of 411 W. York, Camp Point, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday (June 26, 1999) in his home.
Born Aril 28, 1940, in Adams County, he was a son of Edward N. and Naomi Hinshide Powell. He married Donna S. Bainter Oct. 29, 1966 in Quincy. She survives.
Mr. Powell was a heavy equipment operator and operated his own mail trucking service for the last 23 years. He attended the Congregation Church. He had a lifelong love and interest in horses. He raised, trained and showed horses. He was member of the American Quarter Horse Association and a member of the Appaloosa Association.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward N. Powell of Camp Point; four sons, Ricky Powell and his wife, Chris, of Camp Point, Wesley Powell and his wife, Marlene, of Camp Point, Ryan "Stoney" Powell of Fort Riley, Kan, and Jason Powell of the home; seven grandchildren, Samantha Sims of Camp Point, Ashley Powell of Camp Point, Jakson Dolbeare of Quincy, Jessica Ruby of Camp Point and D. J. Powell, Latoyta Powell and Jesse Powell, all of Camp Point; two brothers, Monty Powell and Dennis Powell, both of Camp Point; a sister, Linda Spencer of Quincy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and first wife, Barbara Jean Powell, who died July 30, 1965.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy by the Rev. Ray Peters. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family.
